We are thrilled about our new location at Stillwater Stables! We have permission to build shelters, plant vegetable gardens and food forests, and have camp fires. Your children will be able to interact and experiment more intimately with the land - which is essential in building lifelong connections.
Meet Bethany @ Stillwater Stables

Alister and Brittany have had the amazing opportunity to experience the Stillwater philosophy first hand. Their natural horsemanship approach is something different. It is based on love, respect, trust, and fun. We came away feeling empowered and intimately bonded with the horse we connected with. It's an experience like no other.
The Stillwater Stables Education Centre is more than the location of our programs. It is a place we've come to feel at home. Bethany and the Stillwater crew are simply amazing human beings. It's just a bonus that they do horses too.

Is Stillwater for You?
Are you interested in riding? Do you have a child who is interested in riding? Maybe you’re not sure, maybe you’re a little nervous. The folks at Stillwater Stables understand that so they welcome you to drop by, visit the rabbits, play with their cats and dogs, and of course, meet their horses. You can go and watch a lesson, walk around, brush a pony.
Are you already a horse person but you’re looking for somewhere new? Maybe you want to re-connect with the horse world. Maybe you want to take a new approach to your horse-human partnership.
Stillwater may be the place for you.

Natural Horsemanship: The Stillwater Philosophy
Horses are smart and they like to play and work. In the Natural Horsemanship approach, you will:
- Learn to use communication methods based on natural equine instincts. You will watch and learn how our equine friends communicate with each other, and then imitate that approach. At Stillwater, you will never be told ‘kick to go and pull to stop’.
- Focus on building a relationship with your horse. This goes beyond throwing on a saddle and making your horse or pony walk, trot and canter around a ring. This means working with your horse from the ground up, learning to tack up your horse gently and respectfully, and knowing that once you’re in the saddle you have already started working on a special and trusting friendship.
- Use ground work maneuvers as building blocks that become the foundation of a solid relationship.
