Homeschool Classes

Which stream is Right for You?

Here at Nature Connections, our classes grow with your children as they do. We believe that the Forest School approach works amazingly for children and their families as they start along this path! And as your child grows, they begin needing more challenge, instruction and responsibility as we help them discover who they are and what they are capable of.

We have designed our Mud in my Toes and Discovery Team classes for the needs of younger children (see below), while our Skills of the Wild class series is the step your child takes after Forest School when they are ready for more challenge. Parents of children in Skills of the Wild classes have called them "Forest School on Steroids", and "Scouts Plus". Children in our classes have told us "it's like Forest School, except better because we actually learn stuff".

We like learning stuff.

Ages 2-6:
Mud In My Toes

Our Mud In My Toes class series is designed specifically with young children and their parents/guardians in mind. This class is all about getting comfortable out in nature where we find plants and animals, learn to move and sense with our bodies, and make new friends through play, music, and storytelling.

Ages 6-11:
Discovery Team

Our Discovery Team class series is designed for the young adventurer, balancing planned activities with unstructured exploration and play. This class is all about learning and discovering new things while working together with new friends. It is suitable for children who are learning to feel safe at class without their parents while meeting new people and developing confidence. Together we will become builders, crafts people, story tellers, explorers, and friends.

Ages 9-12 + 12-14:
Skills of the Wild

Join us at Nature Connections for story-based, gamified learning and fun in our original 'Skills of the Wild' episodic class series! Each of our Skills of the Wild classes follow their own unique storylines, from documentaries gone wrong, surviving the apocalypse, or travels back in time, with plenty of adventure, intrigue, and opportunities for friends to work together like never before. This class series is all about practicing technique, problem solving, asking big questions, and working together with friends in the great outdoors.
