Who we are (And who we're not!)
At Nature Connections, we believe in giving children the tools to thrive in an uncertain future by studying "Skills of the Wild" through our original story-based and gamified summer camps, weekly classes, school field trips, workshops and special events. Led by our team of multidisciplinary Nature Nerds, we offer intimate, small group learning experiences focused on exploring the skills of our ancestors and the natural world. We believe that by working together and learning from the land, we discover who we are and what we are capable of.

We are not a forest school with a focus on unstructured discovery and play;
We are the step children take after forest school when they are ready for more of a challenge.
We are not survivalists with the main goal of getting out of an encounter with nature alive;
We focus on living in harmony on the land with the goal of leaving nature better than we found it.
We are not conservationists who believe that to protect nature we must leave it alone;
We believe that a hands-on, participatory approach to learning and connection with the natural world builds the lifelong bonds and understanding necessary to build a better future for all life on Earth.

Company Story
What started out as a passion for local and sustainable food developed into an effort to share the beauty and wisdom of the natural world through education-based events and programs.
Nature Connections is focused on sharing earth skills: everything from permaculture, gardening, survival skills, sustainable food and farming, with the aim of re-connecting kids to nature and creating resilient communities.
After meeting in a local permaculture design course, Brittany and Alister connected around the idea that nature isn't something that is "out there" and separate from us. Though they started out as a ecological gardening company, Brittany and Alister soon realized they could make a bigger difference by empowering and teaching people to grow food and provide for themselves.
