The Wilderness is Calling...
Into a land of mystery and magic, we practice the ancient arts. Fire, shelter, nature lore and more guide us in meeting our most basic human needs by working together in harmony with nature. Under the shade and protection of our grandmother White Pine, or in the warmth of our wigwam and our tipi, our students experience for a brief moment what it's like to live in the wilds - caring for ourselves, each other, and the world around us. With nothing more than our tools and our wits, we learn to not just survive - but thrive - in nature, cultivating attitudes, skills, and friendships for a lifetime.
Nature Connections' curriculum guides students through a unique exploration of biology and ecology, wilderness skills, foods of the forest, permaculture, language studies, and indigenous history, knowledge and culture. As with any good nature school, we are always adapting our lesson plans to the seasons and opportunities nature provides.
