Join us for a great weekend of like-minded nature and ancestral-skills enthusiasts eager to practice and share skills and experiences. Potential topics may include: 
  • Fire starting
  • Wild edibles
  • Animal tracking & bird language
  • Shelter building
  • Blacksmithing
  • Food preparation and preservation (i.e. dutch oven recipes, etc)
  • Primitive traps
  • Carving
  • Natural fiber rope making
  • Martial arts
  • Nature awareness and connection exercises
... and other Bushcraft, Survival, Homesteading, and Permaculture related topics geared towards connecting with nature, creating resilient communities and care-taking the land. 

Focus

The focus of the gathering is on skills-building and practice while cultivating a deep connection with the land and natural environment that supports all life. We have more than enough opportunity to discuss problems in society; let's focus on solutions!

    Registration

    ​We ask for a $40 registration fee to cover cost of materials, organization, and a donation to the Mississippi Madawaska Land Trust which protects this 1,250 acre property for the preservation of nature.  Please bring this with you to the event.

The gathering will take place on over 1,250 acres of beautiful protected wilderness in the hills of the Lanark Highlands. This property can be enjoyed by those seeking tracts of wilderness left to its own wild and mysterious agenda.

Flexible Gathering Scheduling

We will have a loose and flexible schedule created by the people at the gathering, based on the Open Space scheduling concept.
Taking our cues from nature, however, participants may find an amazing opportunity and choose to follow what/where they feel called to in the moment. Any schedule we create is intended to facilitate flow and connection, not restrict it. 

You are invited to come Friday afternoon or evening to set up camp and settle in for the weekend, though if you can only attend one day, or even half a day, we welcome your presence! At night, we may share in stories, food, music and merriment, open a trading blanket, practice nature connection, or other activities as we feel inspired.
