Tuesday June 21st
Ages 12 - 17
10:00 - 3:00
Stillwater Stables 5219 Russell Road
The day will be broken up into two sessions, Horsemanship and Earth skills.
1) Communication through body language is one of the most important and overlooked skills your teen will need in their lives. During horsemanship your teen will lead their horse through the obstacle course and learn about leadership through body language. While riding and grooming they will learn techniques to build a trusting, confident and respectful relationship with their equines - all transferable knowledge to working with other people.
2) Teamwork and community building are other life skills often overlooked in our education. For the Earth Skills session, your teen will learn to expand all of their senses while trusting their instincts and working together to overcome challenges. We will engage in skill-building activities that are engaging and fun based on the lessons we can learn from how many animals work together in herds or packs for survival.
This is an outdoor program. Your teen will need to wear outdoor appropriate clothing, running shoes and bring a lunch. Safety riding helmets and riding boots are provided at the stable.
